I start the day at bride Mariët’s home, where she and her daughters are getting ready together. Groom Fridjof arrives in the wedding car to pick them up, and from there we head straight to Kasteel Duivenvoorde for a photo session with the newlyweds and their family.
With perfect timing, the rain starts pouring down just after the guests have arrived and right as the indoor ceremony begins. The ceremony is led by a close friend of the couple, making it feel even more personal and meaningful. After the ceremony, there’s time for a short reception and a few speeches, but before long we’re heading to Leiden to board a boat and enjoy a cruise through the city’s beautiful canals.
After a stop at Brasserie De Poort for dinner, everyone hops back on the boats to continue the celebrations. The day comes to a stylish close with a big wedding party at the Hortus Botanicus Leiden.
Fridjof and Mariët, what a wonderfully chaotic wedding day with so many different locations and so much going on! Thank you for trusting me to capture these memories for you. It was a pleasure to be part of such a special day.
