Storytelling wedding photography
'The best day of your life', that is how a wedding day is often described. And for many people it's true. There is no other day when you as a couple are at the centre of attention and where all of your friends and family are present especially for you to witness you saying 'Yes I do' to each other.
It is therefore a unique day with real emotion and moments that really only occur at weddings. A day that starts with the excitement during the preparations and ends with a fantastic party to celebrate your love.
The story of your wedding day, that is what wedding photography is all about. With an eye for detail and a creative view of every situation, as a wedding photographer, I capture this day in a unique way and tell the story with striking photos that you can enjoy for years to come.
Continue to see how I creatively portray all the preparations, beautiful moments, the party, details and all emotions during this memorable day.

The sun rises and your wedding day has started. This is also where your story of the wedding day begins and where the tension slowly builds up. Getting ready, make-up, busy people and beautiful moments, I capture them all!
Anyone can press the shutter button on a camera. But not everyone can do that at the right moment, from a creative angle and with an eye for detail. The creative side of wedding photography cannot be underestimated.
A smile, a tear, joy, astonishment, happiness and so much more. There are so many emotions associated with weddings because it is such a special day. Of course, I make sure to capture them all!
All kinds of things happen at weddings. Of course, all the planned stuff, such as the kiss and the cutting of the cake, but especially those small unplanned moments make your wedding day so special.
From all important prominent things such as the wedding cake, the rings and the wedding bouquet, to all those little details that help you tell the story of your wedding day in a unique way.
This is me
In short, I am a creative person with a can-do mentality, who loves life, my family / friends and my cat Snow.
I love sports and am regularly found on the mat for some Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, or in the dunes and even the Alps to ride down the most beautiful trails with my mountain bike.
I travel a lot and also like to take photographs in my spare time. Also, I spend a lot of time with my wife and I am actually a bit of a geek who, besides playing video games, also loves the technical side of photography.
I started photography when my wife Roxy (then my girlfriend) started a fashion blog and put a camera in my hands. So you could say that I started as a fashion photographer and slowly developed into a wedding photography. Ok that might stretch it a bit, but this makes me all the more serious about my profession as a wedding photographer.

What do other couples say about me?
“Bart was our photographer for a love shoot in Amsterdam. Bart took us along and made a complete plan to take fantastic photos at various locations.
He was very interested in our story and has ensured that it would also be translated into the photos. He uses a creative view which he combines with the environment, beautiful lighting, raindrops and reflections.
I heartily recommend Bart as your photographer if you are looking for a professional who creates beautiful and creative photos. He really focused on telling our story and that was reflected in the photos. Bart, we'll see you at our wedding!”
“ Bart is an old acquaintance to us. We have already hired him several times, including our engagement shoot in Paris and our wedding in the Netherlands. He creates a relaxed atmosphere and has the necessary (dry) humour to make you feel comfortable.
Bart always had great input saw creative possibilities for our wishes. We absolutely recommend him! Bart thank you very much for the good service and fantastic results!”
“Bart has made great photos of our day. He was with us all day, but always discreetly and in the background. As a result, he has been able to capture many 'real' moments.
Because of his way of photographing, we now have photos that make us experience the whole wedding day over and over again.”
“We had to call Bart a week before our wedding because our booked photographer could no longer be available during our wedding day. We had seen Bart at work a few months earlier at another wedding and were very excited about him. Despite the short term, Bart was flexible enough to help us out. Because of the timeframe, we discussed all details by phone and even adjusted the schedule slightly after advice from Bart. He did 'direct' us during the photoshoot, but mainly created a relaxed atmosphere. The photos have become beautiful, actually better than we had hoped for.
It seems that it was faith that brought us to Bart!”

Questions for a Wedding Photographer
Frequently Asked Questions
How long should the photographer be present?
On your wedding day, it's all about one thing: Your story in photographs. Stories are of course best told in all their completeness, which is why I am almost always there from start to finish. Some photos are a story on their own, others help to tell the complete story in a better way, but the big picture is what eventually matters most.
What happens when it rains?
Then we get soaked. That is if we don't use the umbrella's that I always take with me, because a little preparation ,of course, doesn't hurt. Having a sheltered location as an alternative for a photoshoot can also be convenient.
However, I recommend that you do not get depressed when a rain shower passes by. After all, it is your wedding day, the most beautiful day of your life. And a little rain isn't going to change that.
Even more so, a typical Dutch shower can also cause extremely cool images. I, therefore, do not see the environment and the weather as a disruptive factor, but rather see it as a means to use for great photos.
Have a look at this for example:
When do we do the photoshoot?
This depends entirely on the planning of the day and will always need to be discussed. Will you see each other for the first time at the ceremony? Then the photoshoot before the ceremony is of course impossible.
The location is also very important. Is there a place that means a lot to you both? As a photographer, I always think of the available light in combination with the location.
Is there not enough available light? Then I'll grab my flashes and we'll get creative! I like to think in solutions and honestly, you can create some amazing creative photos with flashes.
Are you available in all of The Netherlands?
Hell yes! Also, I don't charge any extra travel costs within The Netherlands.
Why? Because I really enjoy working at different locations. It's not only challenging, but it also ensures that I keep sharp and enjoy this amazing job as a wedding photographer.
What if my dress gets dirty?
This can of course happen and there is always a solution to be found. The most important thing is: At that moment this happens, stay happy and don't be emotionally affected by it. This is the day of your life and it is a shame to spend it in a bad mood.
To give an example, take a look at these two photos. This couple remained cheerful despite the fact that muddy soil had caused quite a bit of damage during the photoshoot. Their friends made sure that everything looked perfect again for the ceremony and party.
Freedom of choice
I would like to give you the freedom to make your own choice regarding the number of hours that I am present at the wedding and the products that you purchase. I understand that there is not always space for large prints or a huge album and because of this I rather leave this decision up to you.
So in short, you first determine the number of hours you would like me to be present and then choose the product package that fits with your needs.
To give you an idea; Usually I am present at a wedding for about 12 hours and wedding couples choose a medium-sized product package.
In total, wedding couple spend an average between 2200,- euro's and 2700,- euro's on photography and the products they order.
