First, a disclaimer because we are dealing with an exceptional situation in exceptional times. There are some pictures in this blogpost where it seems like people don't adhere to the 1.5 rule. In some cases, this is an optical illusion thanks to the composition in the photo. There have been no violations of the rules and people you do see close together are in all cases part of the same household.
I arrive at the beautiful Landgoed Rhederoord. A beautiful old mansion near Arnhem, surrounded by a huge natural reserve, the Veluwezoom National Park. The weather forecaster had predicted a lot of rain in the Arnhem area for October 10, 2020, but I am pleasantly surprised by a lovely morning sun when I scout the wedding location. I explore the area and after a while, Claudia and Jan arrive to prepare for their big day.
Preparations are running smoothly. While Jan is getting ready with his family in the wine cellar, Claudia is preparing on the top floor of the mansion. Despite the Corona pandemic, everyone is very happy that this day can happen as planned. You can see the relaxed and relieved looks on everybodies faces, because they're all very happy the wedding didn't need to be cancelled.
When everyone is ready, it is time for Claudia and Jan to see each other for the first time this day. The first look moment is in front of the beautiful mansion of Rhederoord and despite the weather forecast, we haven't seen a drop of rain yet. Was the weatherman wrong?
A walk on the estate of Rhederoord follows to capture some beautiful wedding portraits in the area.
The weather seems to eventually change, but fortunately, this is no longer a factor that can cause any harm. The ceremony is held indoors and after the beautiful words from ceremony speaker Eva Schuurman, it is time to read each other the vows and exchange the rings.
A modest reception follows. Unfortunately, an exuberant party was not possible due to the Corona pandemic. Despite the social distiancing measurments, everybody's good mood is unaffected when congratulating the newlyweds (with gloves on).
After cutting the cake, some nice words are shared by family and friends and Ger Savelkoul provides for the necessary musical entertainment.
Claudia and Jan, it's amazing this wedding could still happen despite the Corona pandemic. Thanks a lot for letting me be part of it!
I wish you both all the happiness in the world!
